Harbinger & Harken, Vol. 1: Cookbook
The owners of Harbinger and Harken cafes in Charleston, SC came to us, Mise en Place Publishing, to produce their first cookbook. Our mission was to show their quirky, rustic style throughout the book with beautiful photography and rich color palettes while balance everything out with more modern fonts.

Layout Design
Each chapter is named after an item in the cafe which are really fun plays on words. We decided to use different color palettes for each of the chapters to give them their own identity. This supported the quirkiness of the naming and added an organizational aspect to the flow of the book. Plus, who doesn’t want more color??
